What should be noted after a trademark has been granted registration?
After acquiring the rights to a trademark, the registrant shall, in particular, note the following matters:
- renewal of the term of exclusive use.
- obligation to continuously use the trademark.
- recordation of licensed use.
- prohibition of change or additional notes to the trademark, whereby the trademark is made similar to another person's trademark.
The term of trademark rights is ten years. The registration renewal shall be filed prior to the expiration of the term of exclusive use thereof. The registered trademark can be renewed every ten years and if the renewal is not applied for before the expiration, the trademark right shall become invalid on the day after the expiration of the time limit.
